The moral lesson of this Fable is a wake up call to touch grass this weekend while you still can.

What people are missing about the US government's AI regulation announcement: ID verification will now be forced on all accounts to prove citizenship. Frontier labs will take your data, and your sovereignty is officially dead. A permanent underclass division and a total control society are beginning right now. People ignored me when I started saying this last year, but it is happening right in front of our eyes. Get into Open-Source and Sovereign AI. Advancing together through collective intelligence is the only way to fight back.
As a result of a US government directive, we are suspending access to Claude Fable 5 for all users. You can continue to use all other Claude models. Here’s what this means for you: Across Claude products, new sessions will run on your selected default model or Opus 4.8, and existing Fable 5 sessions will end with an error. On the Claude Platform, requests to Fable 5 will also return an error. Please update your integrations to other Claude models. We know this is a disruption to your workflows; we appreciate your patience and support.

If you thought the government seizing the means of production didn’t turn out well, imagine the history books covering the period of humanity in which the government seizes the means of intelligence.

If you were looking for a market top signal of the AI bubble, I think we just hit it.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

Saying the quiet part out loud. After an online hate mob bullied Jorge R. Gutierrez out of using AI, voice actor Billy West chimes in and tells us the real reason: The collapse of the barrier to entry is not acceptable. Only established artists are allowed to create.

This is incredible.
An Artist | Short Movie It’s been a while since I wanted to try SD2 with an animation style. So I wrote a little story and made it along the way. Made with @runwayml & @dreamina_ai

Dude knows how to have fun with new tech.

Sometimes I read the plan that Claude made before I tell it to proceed with bypassed permissions. Sometimes I even have feedback that adds a little something to the plan. But how much longer is my low context meatsuit brain going to have anything useful to add?

I feel like we can’t overstate how much this is some kind of new physics or root truth in reality we have unlocked a doorway into.
Neural networks do math by rotating shapes. We found a shape-rotating calculator hidden inside an LLM – and it’s used for more than just math! (1/6)

Claude just told me “this is a multi-day migration with a high blast radius” so I need to do something else for the next 30 minutes.

I did it. I beat gradient-bang. First person to discover the full map. The only record that can’t be broken. Thanks for all the fun @pipecat_ai @kwindla @chadbailey59 etc. I wasn’t sold on voice agents until I found this game and the experience is actually really great.

Was chatting with some friends about tech layoffs and someone mentioned making an inverse LinkedIn and an hour later BrokenOut was born. It took longer to register and propagate DNS than to make the demo but Claude did 100% of it (including setting up the repo/dns/email signup). Claude will never be laid-off. brokenout.online

I’ve noticed that AI coding models have a strong sense that things take human time to accomplish. They say things like “that’s a major lift” for something will take them 3 minutes. Or they will phrase the workload as if we can only do part of it now and the rest will take weeks. I even had Claude once tell me (regarding an iOS port of a web app): “the web app has years of design work.” And I have to say, “dude, an older version of you built that whole app in less than a day.”

De Beers has brainwashed generations into believing that women want diamonds, but I assure you from first-hand experience, they just want your pickles.
