Running on one cylinder

I don't know how people watch football. There are 22 players on the ground running after the ball with no event happening for majority part of the match. Football can never match the entertainment value of cricket, in cricket every ball is an event unlike football where 22 players chase the ball for 90 minutes just to end the game with 0-1 scoreline🤡

This is why @svembu has been advocating for sovereign development of tech, whether you agree with him or not.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

Why is @MaridhasAnswers incapable of sticking to questions on just a person's work, ethic, or competence and having a problem with how she dresses or whether she wears a nose ring? Why does a female minister have to deal with this sexism and verbal harassment? Calling a Minister who has rightfully earned her seat at the table - "Tharkuri" is probably a special talent of men here. Whether you like her or not, she is at the table, you are not. It is best if these chest-thumping, self confessed progressive men stuck to pointing out flaws on a politician's actual work, and not focus if a woman is wearing lipstick or a nose ring. Nothing about her dressing could have possibly ruined the "oru kaalathla manufacturing gateway aaga irundha Tamilnadu" in 3 whole weeks. It is time women in politics in India got to dress in other comfortable attire and not just in a Sari just because that is what is palatable to the men and some of the gatekeeping women, here.

Today, we share a breakthrough on the planar unit distance problem, a famous open question first posed by Paul Erdős in 1946. For nearly 80 years, mathematicians believed the best possible solutions looked roughly like square grids. An OpenAI model has now disproved that belief, discovering an entirely new family of constructions that performs better. This marks the first time AI has autonomously solved a prominent open problem central to a field of mathematics.

If LLMs were invented around 2000, would they still be generating websites in Perl or would we have reached TypeScript and React much faster? I wonder if LLMs just lock us into whatever stack they are trained on.

The software sector is facing a massive debt wall: ~$40 billion in software and services debt matures in 2028, the largest single-year concentration. The vast majority of this is rated B- or lower, deep in junk territory, with no investment-grade debt in the mix. In total, ~$100 billion in software debt matures from 2026 to 2029, with an additional ~$70 billion beyond 2030. Meanwhile, AI disruption is increasing credit risk for software borrowers, the exact companies that private credit funds have been lending to most aggressively. Software is also the largest sector in the leveraged loan market, representing 12% of the total. Refinancing this debt at higher rates with deteriorating fundamentals will be a growing problem for the sector. The software sector has a tough road ahead.

The next generation of solo entrepreneurs won’t be developers. They won’t obsess over tech stack or trendy design libraries. They will be no-code people focused on solving a problem, shipping crazy fast with AI, and cracking distribution on social media. They will be 100x wealthier than us.

🚨 Someone just open sourced a fully autonomous AI hacker and it's terrifying. It's called Shannon. Point it at your web app, and it doesn't just scan for vulnerabilities. It actually exploits them. Real injections. Real auth bypasses. Real database exfiltrations. Not alerts. Not warnings. Actual working exploits with copy-paste proof-of-concepts. Here's what this thing does autonomously: → Reads your entire source code to plan its attack → Maps every endpoint, API route, and auth mechanism → Runs Nmap, Subfinder, and WhatWeb for deep recon → Hunts for Injection, XSS, SSRF, and broken auth in parallel → Launches real browser-based exploits to prove each vulnerability → Generates a pentester-grade report with reproducible PoCs Here's the wildest part: It follows a strict "No Exploit, No Report" policy. If it can't actually break it, it doesn't report it. Zero false positives. It pointed at OWASP Juice Shop and found 20 critical vulnerabilities in a single run including complete auth bypass and full database exfiltration. On the XBOW Benchmark (hint-free, source-aware), it scored 96.15%. Your team ships code daily with Claude Code and Cursor. Your pentest happens once a year. That's 364 days of shipping blind. Shannon closes that gap. One command. Fully autonomous. The Red Team to your vibe-coding Blue team. Every Claude coder deserves their Shannon. 10.6K GitHub stars. 1.3K forks. Already trending. 100% Open Source. AGPL-3.0 License.

Be way too ambitious, don’t be consumed by revenue metrics
Jan 28
Northwood Space CEO Bridgit Mendler's advice to founders: "Be more ambitious than you think you should." "You'd be surprised how quickly things change and how quickly things develop." "If you're setting out to use your precious time in your life building something, build something big." "Choose something meaningful. It's going to take up so much time and so much of your life energy to build. Do something you care about." @bridgitmendler @NorthwoodSpace

Kinda disagree. AI is exponentially amplifying the productivity of intelligent worker. 2 sharp operators with AI can do what a 15 person team did before. You won’t need big teams anymore. Human in the loop will always exist. Real question: who’s that one human on your team?
2023: AI won't replace you, someone using AI will. 2026: Yeah, AI is gonna replace you.

You can have 0 followers, 0 engagement, and still hit $1M MRR. A lot of people here get this wrong. Distribution doesn’t mean you have to build a personal brand. Having a personal brand helps. But selling is a different game.
