Vancouver isn’t perfect, but what this soccer moment has reiterated to me is this: If we want social connection, our policies have to allow for it. Montreal gets this. We can too. And I think this current city council wants to make it happen. I know ABC and @KenSimCity are championing more of this. Pedestrianize Granville and Robson in spring/summer. Keep Water Street car-light. Make patios bigger and easier. Let bars, cafés and pubs stay open later. Transit can adapt. Deliveries can be managed. These are solvable problems. Just look at Granville right now. People want to gather. Then think bigger: an organization focused on growing local festivals and major events. Celebration of Light, the PNE, music festivals, cultural street festivals like Italian Day and Khatsahlano. Not just tourism, but community. Cities don’t become vibrant by accident. They choose to be. Vancouver your time to choose is now.

Delta families and commuters have every right to be fed up. After more than four hundred and fifty million dollars of taxpayers’ money have already been spent, along with years of delay, the NDP government has terminated the Massey Tunnel replacement contract. Yet they claim that restarting the work through multiple separate contracts will neither cost more nor take any longer. This defies common sense. This is the same NDP that routinely sends major contracts overseas, including a billion-dollar BC Ferries deal, rather than supporting the skilled local workers and businesses here in British Columbia. Hard-working families deserve far better stewardship of their tax dollars. I fully support Delta Councillor Dylan Kruger’s call for a full independent investigation into this spending and these repeated delays. Transparency and accountability must be restored. British Columbians deserve a government that delivers critical infrastructure efficiently, on time, and on budget while respecting every dollar and creating good local jobs. When we form the next government, that is exactly what we will do. Together, we will end the waste, restore competence, and build the safe, prosperous British Columbia our families and communities need.

A woman filed a human rights complaint after she and her teenage daughter encountered a male in fetish attire in a women’s change room at an Edmonton recreation centre and argued the city’s policy violated women’s privacy rights. The Alberta Human Rights Commission refused to hear the complaint. She then asked the court to order the Commission to consider it, but her case was dismissed on procedural grounds before the underlying issues were ever heard. The NDP canceled the George Massey Bridge in 2017. It’s now 2026! The replacement tunnel still isn’t under construction, the contractor has been fired, and the project is being retendered. Nearly a DECADE of delays, planning, studies, consultants, and bureaucracy. British Columbians are still stuck in traffic while this government keeps hitting restart!
