I've completed the challenge, with swimming 25 km. This means I am donating an extra £15 x 12 = £180 to the cause. Thanks to everyone for supporting me and @CR_UK. In total, we raised £370 £80 in gift aid.

This paper has taken a lot of time and effort, but it's finally on arXiv. Adding van der Waals corrections to GAP force fields. We can do TS as accurately as VASP, and the TS forces are actually *more accurate*. Thanks to Heikki and the other coauthors. arxiv.org/abs/2105.02525
