This evening, crews from Appleby & Kirkby Stephen proudly received their Kingβs Coronation Medal, presented by Station Manager Pete Kavanagh π

Congratulations to the crew, who received the medals as Members the of frontline Emergency Service.

Last night, the crew were part of a training exercise at Acorn Bank. Crews were called to a building that was well alight π₯ and used BA, HRJs, main jets, LPPs and a water relay from the river along with hydrants, the water bowser and the unimog for itβs water capacity.

This week we had our Hazardous Materials / Decontamination skills validation πͺ£π§½π©Έπ¦ π§¨where the crew were assessed on correct safe procedures to decontaminate after they have come into contact with hazardous substances.
This was a joint exercise with Kirkby Stephen station ππ

This evening we were joined by @LazonbyFire and KS crew - a two car RTC with 5 persons trapped - including live casualties - which is always a brilliant training opportunity.
The crews used stabilisation, cutting gear and casualty care to safely rescue those trapped. #DrillNight
