Playing Call of Cthulhu and all of the PCs are avoiding reading any in game material in order to avoid SAN loss. “Knowing is half the battle so by not knowing we bypass half the battle…”

Around 1876, wargames were divided by a disagreement into two camps, "rules kriegspiel" and "free kriegspiel." The division has never healed. Most of today's RPG debates just reiterations of that classical rules vs free kriegspiel debate.

The executives at Amazon reportedly think that Stargate is too small of a franchise for people to have heard of. So let me ask the question: Have YOU personally heard of Stargate before? Let’s shock them with our numbers! #SaveStargate

Geez, I knew Fable didn’t look good, but for the government to step in must mean it’s really bad

Anthropic just pulled Fable 5 worldwide. They got a letter from the gov an hour ago, forbidding Fable and Mythos access by any foreign national located anywhere, including inside the US. So they shut it down for everyone until they figure this out.

If I write a sci-fi RPG, Greco-Deco is the aesthetic of its future.

People SKIM the AI summary?! Grok, is this true?
Two young men sitting next to me discussing how they no longer read articles. They skim the AI summary. So not only are major outlets using AI to write articles. The information AI scrapes for these articles is AI-generated. And then 'humans' are only reading the AI summary of the AI slop from AI data. Do you have any idea how quickly information degrades in this situation? This is a f-ing nightmare for humanity. We have the best education in human history. Access to real-time global knowledge and the full wealth of historical context. And we're so lazy we ask algorithms to skim news for us.

You could read Ian Fletcher's "Free Trade Doesn't Work" or you could read this one tweet.
I convince you “comparative advantage” is real and that you’re comparatively better at growing wine and I’m better at manufacturing. Year 1: You produce 10k barrels of wine, I produce a couple cars. Year 100: You produce 10k barrels of wine, I produce 10M space lasers.

I'm sorry everyone. All I wanted to do was use AI to make the world's best simulationist RPG. I didn't mean for this to happen.

A few months ago @emollick demonstrated that a frontier model could write a story game RPG. With the release of Fable 5, I am now going to test whether the latest model can generate a simulationist RPG that's good enough to impress me. It's 10:42PM and Claude has just begun.

Claude finished the design at 12:21 PM. I'll review in the morning to see what it came up with.

I'm retweeting myself because I think this is awesome. The events in the Ascendant Universe graphic novels were determined by the events in the Ascendant RPG campaign. The players in those games can attest to it, they saw their own activities in the comics.
Yes! Almost all of the characters in the books are statted out in Ascendant and Ascendant: Rogues Gallery. Not only that, all of the fights were actually fought by real players using the characters, and the storyline tracks the events of the game.

I asked Claude Fable to help me improve one of ACKS II's subsystems and it routed me back to Opus 4.8. From this we are forced to conclude that any RPG more engaging than ACKS II would literally endanger human welfare.

I'm mostly kidding. Actually I just triggered its safety measures with this prompt (intentionally).

I've been saying this for 15 years. At last my time has come!
youtube.com/watch?v=R6ASiG3Y… I agree with every word of this and will use it in a way that’s gonna blow @MythicMLand and @WorldofWeirth ‘s minds

Untold devastation was wrought on D&D play when the left half of the painting with the hirelings doing grunt work was omitted, leaving players with the impression that an expected party only had 5 members. 🙃
Along with Dave Sutherland, David A “Tramp” Trampier helped build the AD&D fantasy foundation with his art. The original AD&D Players Handbook cover, seen here as the full painting, is such a remarkable piece.

It took exactly one prompt, and a rather innocuous one at that, for the model to revert itself to an older model out of "safety risk." It's like driving a Ferrari with a throttle set at 30mph because it's dangerous to go fast.
Anthropic actually did launch Claude Fable today and I just got access. I shall now endeavor to take over the world with it. If you see my face appearing on billboards that say Archon Is Watching You, I succeeded.
