I see some people (not the majority, but some) on the right being absolutely vicious to
@HunterBiden now that he has, by all reports, cleaned up his life. Let us not become what the other side so often is to us. He has been amiable with us, and, agree or disagree with him or his father, of whom I am most decidedly not a fan, we don't treat people this way without serious justification, which Hunter has not given us.
I will say that I am completely ignorant as to Hunter's individual politics. That said, I am sure some of the people behaving poorly towards him are (like myself) the kinds of people who miss the 90's Democrats with whom one can have a serious disagreement, then go out for coffee and have fun. Isn't it counter-productive to try and throw stones at this man with his past if you are so nostalgic for such times and such people?
Many of you are Christians. I believe there was a something about throwing stones in the Scriptures we all know and love. How many times has Christ given you another chance? Was this not the cause for His sacrifice? Bear in mind the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant, or that of the Prodigal Son. Did our Lord not forgive Saul, a man who killed Christians and helped others to kill them, and use that wicked sinner for His glory? Should we not, then, at least give Hunter a second chance?
I will admit to bias. I am a recovering addict too, benzos and opiates. I am two and a half years clean. I dream of being where Hunter is today, and the pure class with which he handles people berating him over his past is a breath of fresh air on this website. I did things that were not who I am in active addiction, and I know he can say the same. When I quit, my husband told me something like "I can't wait to watch you grow", and I have never forgotten it. He had never met me as a non-addict. I have grown, and I am certain Hunter has as well. I want to learn about sober Hunter. So far, he's inspiring me to be better on here.
Besides, he was nice to Candace Owens, which means he has much more patience than I do.
