Here's a microblog about Aerodynamic Lift; from the paradoxes and anomalies that haunt the 'accepted' Theories-of-Flight to the Displacement Aerodynamics that will someday take their place. I'd love to read your comments about anything you see there...
This article makes the problem seem like a choice of two opposed positions. But how Lift happens really is a mystery - it's not just poorly explained. FOUR experts provide arguments for the piece - and each favours a DIFFERENT explanation of Lift... x.com/sciam/status/133428622…

Will analysis of the X-59's Aero performance finally lay to rest the myth of 'supersonic airflow'...? (Enabling a better understanding of both Sound and Aerodynamics, and introducing a 'golden age' of Aviation development...)
X-59 pilots reporting for Reddit AMA duties 🫡 ✈️What is the top speed? ✈️How will it quiet the boom? ✈️How long is the nose? 🍗Drums or flats? Ask away on Reddit: reddit.com/r/nasa/

Defending the SUPERSTITIOUS idea that Ground Effect is some kind of 'drag reduction' (that *somehow* INHIBITS acceleration rather than boosting it...!) for almost a Century has left Aerodynamics BAMBOOZLED as to the real nature of the phenomenon - and leaves pilots in danger.

The Douglas X-3 Stiletto first flew at Edwards AFB on Oct 20, 1952. This research jet had a razor-thin wingspan, pioneered titanium use, but its J34 engines left it underpowered—hitting just Mach 1.2. Its high-speed roll coupling data helped shape the F-104 and X-15. 😎

A century of aviation is a remarkable achievement. Congratulations to our partners at @AmericanAir on their 100th anniversary. Embraer is proud of our long association with American, which began four decades ago. Today, our #EJets continue to connect communities across the United States in American Airlines' colors. Here's to a century of connecting people and to our continued partnership! #AccelerateOpportunity

x.com/arrowfoil/status/18200… Chapter 16: 'MAKING FRIENDS with the Air instead of trying to DEFEAT it...!'

Replying to @AeroSociety
As well as MISREPORTING Thrust's role in Flight, George Cayley's lasting influence 'poisoned the well' of AIR RESISTANCE. Rather than seeing this attribute of air as RESISTANCE TO FALLING, the entire Aero community has been taught to view Air Resistance as a 'drain on Power'.

As any regular here knows, I love the Hughes XH-17 and in this clip, it looks even better!
Trivia - the Hughes XH-17 flying crane rotors measured 130 ft- the largest ever built. Impressive but impractical, it was supposed to carry tanks but not too far: max range was 40 miles (not mentioning the reliability issues due to vibrations...)
