box is the most powerful sandbox tech for agents
why do we know that?
1. it comes with so many tools that take weeks to get right on other providers, as you can see on video:
an agent on a
box.ascii.dev sandbox ran a fullstack real-time chat app based on Docker and Django, no struggle, then QAed it across Android and Chrome with desktop use, made a PR with the fix to a bug it found, and recorded a video to prove it works.
all out of the box, no custom image or setup, just codex running on it a repo our pre-installed tools and skills
what other agentic products, or god forbid any sandbox product, offers such capabilities, either in theory or after a hefty enterprise contract and weeks of building on top?
2. because it's been slow cooked with care by a constrained team
we spent 8 months building cloud coding agents tech, and more recently the ultimate CTO/orchestrator agent
@asciidotdev
that's how box is born, internally, from our own frustration with existing providers, trying to make infra that works for the most ambitious f* up usecases (QA, running ANY code project, hosting anything, scrapping...)
we spent hundreds of days fixing bugs, patching holes, stabilizing the infra, and adding capabilities few can replicate (maybe Devin or Cursor come close?)
as a team of 2 fresh grads, from Europe, paid minimum. up against huge senior big VP/CTO level teams in the US, paid millions
the added benefit of all this is that it's also the most affordable sandbox, we don't need huge margins to sustain ourselves
in the next few months, sandboxes will become a near-the-consumer commodity. We bet that other teams won't survive how much we'll cut the cost and complexity
already well funded teams come to us and ask "how can each user get a couple long running agents with stateful laptop-level powerful sandbox for 1$/month cost"
we're the only ones who can already give answers
