IDEs are Cooked. VsCode forks are cooked. Welcome Ascii !
introducing Ascii: The pocket CTO you send it voice memos on Telegram or instructions from your desktop then Ascii handles it all: > writes code and sends you demos, PDF reports and hosted builds when finished > orchestrates many cloud coding agents working in parallel that can plan, code, test and use their desktop > uses codex, claude code SDKs & subscriptions, no API keys required > works on multiple repositories at once > setups cron jobs and webhooks to schedule work when you sleep > supports secrets, git hooks, full cloud machines config with sudo & 60fps desktop access Welcome to a new era of software building where coding agents aren't mere assistants anymore, now they're as valuable and proactive as a world-class CTO, always at arm's reach, in your pocket

pov: US office with foreign workers
Suspending Fable for all “foreign person inside the US” is wild. How can you even enforce this properly?

i have a conspiracy here. anthropic had conflicts with US gov since Jan 2026. "the dispute between Anthropic and the Department of Defense resulted in the termination of a contract worth an estimated US$200 million" weeks after, openAI got the deal, good move. So, is it a part of the deal now? it will not surprise me if all this time openAI was cooking mythos-level model that they will spread in the coming weeks, and it will not face any wall from the gov.

This is stupidly giving me the masculine urge to take my RTX 5090 and start a mini independent home lab with it. It's like having a garden with groceries in times of crisis - a measure which is economically unviable but gives you this chaos-romantic warm and confort
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

we spent the last 3 weeks silently optimizing our docker bun postgres backend infra and our pool of VMs for box we're still running the central orchestration on a 50$/month bare metal instance in Europe but everything spins up so fast even from the US where I am rn

should have used box according to benchmarks a third party team ran for us, box allows agents to 1-shot a Devin clone with 10% less steps needed, and no errors unlike on Daytona all of that, for a 3x smaller sandbox bill, while building and 9x smaller bill while using
Yesterday, @rileybrown oneshotted a working Replit clone with Fable. He used @daytonaio for sandboxing and @convex for db. I'm not one of those people who say you can replace entire companies with a $200 subscription. But I don't really see the point in paying for Lovable or Replit anymore, either.

some teams that use ascii box dont use github. So we introduced new auth methods to simplify their life now you can auth with google or just email. I measured, our onboarding in average takes less than 50 seconds. simple, fast, box.

That’s one of the reasons people use products like ascii box running agentic loops on your computer is 1. Limiting 2. Unsecure Agents need another computing primitive, not your personal device
Here’s your monthly reminder that you shouldn’t be prompting coding agents anymore. You should be designing loops that prompt your agents.

Poke can’t help me. I Asked to find me an Airbnb, gave budget, dates, workspace criteria 2 links result in 404, one unit is unavailable. Useless but talking to me like twitter prodigy

Poke was trained to make a twitter buzz. Not sure on real value but it just talks like tech folks on twitter.
