Genuinely curious if there are SaaS companies out there who do very little product feature work and just do customer service/maintenance, because the product meets needs well.
Designers: I implore you to learn about the back-end system of the apps you work on.
How can you advocate for the user if you don’t know how their data is being used, or stored? How can you offer a good experience if you can’t signal what’s going on under the hood in the UI?
Maybe this is because I came to design a little bit sideways, but gracious, I have a hard time developing a personal style for my own work, yet no problem for others.
I haven't ever put "writer" in my bio, yet I have written 120 essays and I'm in the middle of a serious effort towards a book.
I think I fake myself out because my output tends to be a repeat of nothing for months and then suddenly churn out 5-6 essays.
I have wrestled with whether I should try to sit down and create the habit of regular writing, if nothing else to bolster a presence on LinkedIn/Medium/whatever but for whatever reason the "burst" is my most natural pattern.
Other thoughts from other writers?
Did you know when you join the business world you get to learn a whole new language? The number of trainings I go to that start with, "We're going to learn some common language..." 😊 All good stuff, just an interesting observation I've had.
Most people massively over complicate the concept of “strategy”. Ultimately a strategy is the general approach you are going to take in order to deliver your company mission/goals.
