well for one the people who love encryption most are pedophiles. Even the US has a law ( dating way back) that forces platforms to proactively hand over some data.

Encryption is widely used and endorsed by banks, online services, governments, human rights orgs, and countless other institutions for safeguarding user data. For instance, X uses HTTPS encryption, and the UK GPDR recommends the use of encryption.

The reason it’s not getting more coverage is that remedying the conditions that led to this, which we’ve been warning about for years, would require unwinding dangerous x surveillant norms the current tech industry relies on.
Coverage or no, the find out era has arrived and a fix is urgently needed, however painful.
