In an age when philanthropic intent is often much greater than actual giving, Chuck Feeney created the model for giving while living. He gave virtually his whole fortune while living, ramping down his foundation over time rather than creating a legacy org.

Feeney has given 373,000% of his current net worth over his lifetime. There are several mega-billionaires who've committed to giving most of their wealth away in their lifetime (Zuck, etc.). Feeney is one of few exs. of someone who actually did it. Lots of capital project grants.
