Hi guys! EIC here, I'm so sorry for the unannounced hiatus and absence lately. I've been busy working on other projects (as well as reading submissions from you guys!) and it completely slipped my mind to tweet an update. A friend just let me know a couple people were worried

tonight's emotional chinese: 不客气
pronounced bùkèqi this means "you're welcome." literally, "no guest energy," as in "don't act like a guest; no need to speak so politely (by thanking)." a variation on this is 不用客气, bùyòngkèqi, basically "no need to stand on ceremony"

small lit mags are not trying to swindle you lol and if you think they should be "upfront" about it then maybe read their guidelines first? realize that a lot of them don't bc the staffs are made of volunteers/unpaid editors? just submit to a bigger/paying pub if that bothers you
