No one prepares you for the real hidden expense of parenthood, and I’m not talking about childcare. It’s the fruit.

I’m not even a Knicks fan, but I am rooting for NYC. I remember moments of pure joy in the streets when I lived there. It feels like there’s less and less of those moments now. I want this for them. Knicks in 5.

I’m pretty sure Big Diamond made up the ā€œtwo-to-three months’ salaryā€ advice for buying an engagement ring. How much should you really spend? We’ve got thoughts on The Joint Account! open.substack.com/pub/thejoi…

Excellent questions from @cliffcornell_ for anyone stepping into generational wealth šŸ‘‡šŸ‘‡šŸ‘‡
There are a lot of different techniques to plan for a liquidity event such as the SpaceX IPO. But if I were a SpaceX employee, I'd also be focused on the following: 1) What does this wealth mean to me? 2) What type of life do I want to live? 3) What can this wealth afford me that I previously did not have access to? 4) What values can this wealth support? Gifting, education, charity, etc.

The US is short an estimated 4M homes, and 91% of owners say they’re not selling. Translation? Lots of ā€œdream homeā€ budgets are being redirected into ā€œstarter homeā€ renovations. Including ours.šŸ‘‡

My husband and I wrote two books together. We work together. We live together. We parent together. But I’m pretty sure the demise of our marriage would be entering the doubles tournament at our tennis club together.

There is no ā€œnormalā€ way to RTW after having a baby. Not after ten weeks. Not after six months. Not ever, really, because the person who left isn’t the same person who comes back. As we close out May, I wrote what I needed to hear all those years ago.

Neither Doug nor I *expected* @cliffcornell_ to work this hard. But he continues to exceed expectations. We are so proud of him, grateful to work with him, and always excited to support his growth. He’s that special.
Finished my last MBA final last night. 8:30pm start time for a final is brutal. Completed the MBA in 2 years as a full time student, no part time enrollment. Finished the TPCP during it. The Great Lock In of 2024/2025 carried well into 2026. I am tired.

I spend a lot of time speaking and writing about motherhood, money, ambition, and the multihyphenate labor of women in the greater context of household equity. This Mother’s Day isn’t my first rodeo. In honor of us, here’s some of my best essays on being a mom šŸ‘‡
