Oh hey — the last chapter of my dissertation was just published in @BiologicalPsyc1! ✨ It was a HUGE team effort and I am very proud of the work we did. Really highlights the value of a multidisciplinary approach considering SABV. Big big thanks to all collaborators!

I am doing a PD. I have a very supportive mentor and I love the research. But I am acutely aware of the financial cost. It’s hard. Especially for those of us that are first-gen/URM/have additional financial obligations (student loans, child care, family care, health costs). 1/x

when you don’t have wrapping paper but you do have a spare 5 minutes before your lab’s white elephant party, you take planner sheets and make them a bit more festive 😂🎄 happy early holidays from Dr. Alexia and the @Bangasser_Lab 🥳

nerves were for naught, I had such a great time at my first ACNP @ACNPorg! Thanks to all who stopped by my poster and talked science with me 😊 🧬 This was also my first time seeing my motherland of PR! So beautiful. Can’t wait to one day go back and visit family. 🇵🇷

Writing this w/ @Cate_cholamine @JamieLarsH @Bangasser_Lab was a great experience! Fun and I learned a lot from some great minds ✨ 😊 Really proud of how this came out, check it out! Effects of ELS/ELA on NAc and motivated behavior from human and rodent model perspectives.

I crunched the numbers this week and I don't think I'm going to recover the cost of moving for my postdoc before the end of my postdoc (2-3 yrs). Mostly tweeting this so grad students who choose to continue in this direction know what's coming

Fellow scientists/trainees with invisible disabilities: how do you deal with accommodations not being taken seriously because your illness is not taken seriously?

Today I am feeling very disappointed in academia for showing me that not only does it not make space for women, POC, or URMs, but it also does not make space for people with disabilities, let alone someone who falls under all of those categories. Looking for advice.
