37 years ago, Bashar found a baby abandoned on the streets of Nazareth.
He rushed her to the hospital and made sure she would be safe.
That baby was Ester.
Years later, Ester decided to find the man who saved her life. But she was afraid that Bashar, an Arab Muslim, might not accept the fact that she had been adopted and raised by a Jewish family.
His response was simple:
"I don't care if you're Jewish, Arab, Muslim, or Christian. What matters to me is that you're alive."
Sometimes the fear we carry about each other is greater than the reality we find.
