Starting with iOS 27, we can actually convert a tab bar to a sidebar. A new modifier was introduced to do this. “.defaultTabBarPlacement(.sidebar)” As of current testing, this seems to work on iPhones as well when the app is in landscape mode. This is the same behavior used in the iPhone Health app, where the tab bar converts into a sidebar in landscape mode!

This GitHub incident is insane. Merge queue commits have been reverting previously merged commits at random. This not only breaks the mental contract teams have with Git in general, but is subtle enough to be really hard to unravel after the fact. githubstatus.com/incidents/z…

Swift/JS interop used to mean "JSObject", "JSValue", and runtime surprises. BridgeJS changes that: annotate your Swift, get typed glue code in both directions. Compile-time safe. Zero manual boilerplate. 🧵

Pretty draconian from Google. Be careful out there if you use Antigravity. I guess I'll remove support. Even Anthropic pings me and is nice about issues. Google just... bans? news.ycombinator.com/item?id…

Hey @Ticketmaster it seems kinda deceiving to send notifications to folks about “last minute Super Bowl tickets” and then have that link to a checkout for tickets to a Reno casino’s Super Bowl VIEWING party.

Found this 1:1 copy of iOS Notes app for Android, and it looks and works so well! I really missed the iOS notes app since switching to Android, and this fixes that for me. 😭

1/ For years, I thought I was driving innovation — helping shape early versions of Google Maps, Search, and YouTube. Then an MIT professor asked me: “Can you name a time you designed a truly new behavior?” Not a better version. Something genuinely novel. I couldn’t. 🧵

There is a vulnerability in LSApplicationWorkspace… seems like there is possibility for a DenialOfService attack… why… it’s open selector that is handled by an other process fails to check if its caller is still alive. It’s immune to App switcher kills, uninstall, etc…

A useful Xcode shortcut I just learned💡 We can quickly format long function calls or initializers with many parameters by placing the cursor inside the parentheses and pressing Control (⌃) M. Selecting the entire expression will also format values like arrays and closures.

ALT LinearGradient initializer with multiple parameters being reformatted onto separate lines using the Control (⌃) M shortcut

Zipline Patient Stories — Delivery #1,459,819 On the evening of March 28th at 17:00 GMT, a 4-year-old girl was playing outside her home in Gbintiri, a farming village in the north east region of Ghana, when she was bitten by a venomous snake hiding under a pile of firewood. Her parents, realizing the severity of the bite, rushed her to Gbintiri Health Center, the closest facility in the area.
