I’m delighted to welcome @shrutipandalai as the @LowyInstitute’s inaugural India Chair, supported by the @AusIndiaCentre@RyanNeelam.
Shruti joins us from the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, and is a former broadcast journalist.
Welcome Shruti!
My latest #TharoorThink column in the @IndianExpress yesterday argues that while I have supported India’s strategic restraint on the #IranWar so far, it’s time to move beyond the tactical manoeuvring of survival, toward the strategic clarity of diplomatic leadership. For the sake of our own growth, for the stability of our region, and for the moral conscience of the world, India must lead the way back from the brink and work to rebuilding th architecture of regional security and world order.
Always good to see senior Indian leaders in Australia & no one epitomises the closeness of the India Australia relationship than Dr Guru Paswan Prakash. Thx to Sonia Gandhi of IABCA & @Matt_KeanMP for trade opportunities. @Senator_Farrell @PiyushGoyal
Always good to catch with friends from India visiting Australia.
Had the pleasure to show @AalimJaveri around Australia’s oldest parliamentary chamber (the NSW Legislative Assembly 1856).
Democracy is the first bond in the Australia India relationship.
What does the 🇦🇺–🇮🇳 partnership look like in real life? We asked Aussies in Mumbai, and 🇮🇳 partners who work closely with 🇦🇺, at the @IndoAustChamber community celebration.
JLF and other Indian Literary Festivals are some of India’s treasures that, amongst other things, not only give voice to a wide range of opinions, but also demonstrate the vibrancy of her cultural pluralism. If only western festivals were as diverse.
Irritating & ignorant article: our @JaipurLitFest literary sessions are massively crowded with passionate, nerdy young readers & our authors regular report the longest signing queues of their careers: in 5 days of the last JLF we sold over 44,000 books
