I looked up this same pollster’s (Qantas) most recent survey in which they asked about the generic congressional ballot (June 4)
In that poll Dems were overall 5 on the congressional ballot.
Among non-college grads, the GOP was 6.2 … identical to Collins’ share in the Maine poll.
Among college grads, Dems were 20. In the Maine poll, Platner is 11.
Among those with a graduate degree, Dems were 24, Platner is 14.
It’s one poll and this is not a one-to-one comparison but these numbers suggest that Platner is perhaps not making inroads with working class voters and might be losing support with college educated voters.
Obviously it’s early & things can change but these numbers suggest that the entire premise of the Platner campaign — that he is uniquely positioned to win over working class voters because of he allegedly working class background — is not happening
Collins 6 with non-college grads
Platner 11 with college grads …
