I've been awarded an OBE for services to Computing and to Artificial Intelligence Education! These things happen because of who you work with as much as anything you do yourself. Huge debt of gratitude to everyone I've worked with, thank you! thegazette.co.uk/notice/3454…

Just published blog on @LinkedIn 'Agentic AI is mostly useless, but might still take your job anyway'. It really does mean 'your' job by the way, not some random other person you've never met! linkedin.com/pulse/agentic-a…

But how do we report incorrect overviews and what happens to the overviews after they are created? Do you use them in future model training? I worry so much about all the garbage that genAI is polluting our information ecosystem with @sundarpichai @demishassabis @WittedNote
Since launching AI Overviews earlier this year, people have been asking a whole new universe of questions. With today’s expansion to 100 countries, AI Overviews will reach 1B users globally. More exciting things for Search ahead! blog.google/products/search/…

Wonder if @peterkyle asked them if folding £1B Horizon funding into R&D budget is a good idea?
Final stops for @peterkyle in San Francisco included meeting leading AI companies @Anthropic and @Nvidia. And at @BerkeleyLab he saw how they help early-stage companies develop biofuels and bioproducts into commercial products, which will shape UK policy on engineering biology.

So only 6 handshakes distance between any two people on Earth. Well I'm now only two away from a Nobel Laureate thanks to @adamsonjulia. Nice to think @BCS were ahead of the curve giving Sir Demis Hassabis CBE the Lovelace Medal linkedin.com/posts/it-bcs_no…
