More good news for firefighters on the #CaldorFire line, a local grocery store opened back up for food and supplies.
Second picture was captured right after the man on the left thanked the firefighter for his service.

In the hilly forests south of town is a freeway-wide new fuel break cut by a small army of fire dozers.

The #CaldorFire is backing down the ridgeline on east side of highway 89 in Christmas Valley. A couple hundred firefighters are down here waiting as the flames approach, watching for embers that might spot. @KCBSRadio

USFS and cal fire firefighters prepare hose to haul up 1200 vertical ft of steep fireline to extend a 6,000 ft hoselay above kirkwood last night. Hiking in the fire, in the middle of the night, at 7500 feet with 60 lbs or more on their backs. They deserve our thanks. #caldorfire
