While there have been noteworthy accomplishments in 2018, we have a lot of work ahead. In Oct., the @NJHCQI released a study showing that health care costs in NJ have continued to climb. 2019 must focus on more ways to lower these costs for all New Jerseyans.

Thanks to everyone who answered! The answer is B, Massachusetts. Before the ACA’s individual mandate, MA introduced the concept in 2006 under then-Gov. Mitt Romney. It was lauded as a national model for increasing enrollment and lowering health insurance costs.

After federal cuts in funding for advertising enrollment, @bcbcnj stressed how advertising leads to higher enrollment & lower costs. This year, the @GovMurphy admin. announced $450,000 would be dedicated to outreach & advertisements for health insurance enrollment.

One of the year’s first victories came in May, when @GovMurphy made NJ the second state ever to have its own individual mandate. Our 15-point plan listed this as one of the most effective ways to drive down the cost of health care for all New Jerseyans
