Just in: βU.S. forces conducted self-defense strikes in southern Iran today to protect our troops from threats posed by Iranian forces, US CENTCOM spokesman told CNN in a statement Monday when asked about explosions reported around the Strait of Hormuz.

Just one hour ago, President Trump said a deal with Iran will be "announced shortly" which would reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
