Given the enormity of the #Pacific region’s #climatechange and #development challenges, Rebecca McNaught highlights the clear benefits of collaborative governance and building upon the rich collaborative problem-solving experiences to date. #PacificOutlook blogs.griffith.edu.au/asiain…

"Australia is still in fossil fuel mode, not in crisis mode"...and "you can't negotiate with the science"... Mary Robinson tells it like it is @ #COP26.
An emotional Mary Robinson, Chair of @TheElders and former President of Ireland slams leaders for not being in crisis mode and blames Saudi Arabia for blocking @skynews #COP26 Today will be very important.

Stand out #resilience message @renewfestbyron: language matters. Bringing communities together under the topic of #disaster can be difficult. Using a common language of ‘thriving’ and ‘connecting’ and having fun attracts more interest and engages more orgs in a common vision.

Such an incredible global network of volunteers with a common language of humanitarianism. Happy Red Cross Red Crescent Day!!

2. The insistence that “today’s zero-carbon technologies are more expensive than their fossil-fuel counterparts”. That’s false. See this report from Lazard (and associated graphic): lazard.com/media/451086/laza…

Such a buzz to see that so many solutions exist when communities connect and share existing resources. Read more about the 'Resilience and Regeneration Roadshow' across the Byron Shire. lnkd.in/gHB9J62

Great piece by @Griffith_Uni colleagues. Technical approaches to #adaptation often overlook the political dimensions - the 'make or break' in so many #disaster situations! @citiesres
Our latest research we reported on in the Conversation today finds that political resilience is crucial for climate adaptation and building resilient cities. theconversation.com/you-need… #adaptation #resilience #resilientcities

Fantastic insights on 'collaborative intelligence' and #collaborationforimpact from the team @ReosPartners. More important than ever to create spaces for systems level change and bringing together diverse yet interdependent stakeholders to enable this.

Having just reviewed a chapter on '#ClimateResilientDevelopment Pathways' for @IPCC_CH AR6, this merging of social, economic and climate agendas outlined today by the POTUS will be an incredible case study to watch unfold and learn from

Very powerful image indeed!
Powerful illustration that "droughts and water insecurity overwhelmingly affect some societal groups more than others". In fact, those living in informal settlements have always been managing with less than the restricted water amount. For them, "every day is a Day Zero".
