Design is compression. Art is expansion.

Back in ~2018, I was the only designer at a tiny startup, and I was desperately trying to hire a second designer. We had very few applicants, and I was begging people to apply! That startup was OpenAI... I hope this time around is different.

Spotify's UI has gotten so awful. It irritates me on a daily basis. I'm so tired of software that feels like a mediocre fashion magazine instead of a useful tool. @SpotifyCares

The #config conference identity is some of the best work I've seen in the tech industry in the last ~5 years. Does anyone know who designed it? Was it done in house? cc @zoink

How long until people make filters for the front-facing screen on the Vision Pro? I just want mine to be a graphic of Geordi La Forge's visor.

I'm bummed by a lot of these changes. Wiping out what I think was a lot of better work by @ludwig, @justinjaywang, @gorociao, and myself. But please, at least align the wordmark properly with the symbol (it's too high) and fix the capital I so it doesn't read OpenAL!

This logo animation by @gorociao is so much more beautiful and interesting than just spinning the symbol around.

The only thing I’m absolutely certain of is that absolute thinking is awful.

100% agree with Bobby’s thread. To me it always meant: “Move fast without fear of ridicule or punishment for honest well intentioned actions that ended up being mistakes.” But, I also recognized how it can so easily be misinterpreted.

I now understand why Facebook abandoned “Move fast and break things” as a company value It’s so easy to maliciously misinterpret it in bad faith Dunked on constantly. Weaponized to mean something it never did Few care to learn what it truly meant. But it was a wonderful value
