In 2022, Ofsted told Lambeth our children’s services required improvement.
Today they rate them Good overall - with Outstanding support for care leavers.
We accepted their challenge and focused relentlessly on improving outcomes for young people… 🧵
Ofsted has said that Children's Services in Lambeth have dramatically improved since our last inspection in 2022 💪🥳
We are now rated as 'good', with outstanding support for care leavers ❤️

One month on from the local elections & the Green Party has already plunged Lambeth into chaos.
They've abandoned their manifesto pledge to introduce a committee system, proposed the biggest pay rises to their Cabinet members & caused two by-elections.
Lambeth deserves better👇
In 2021 Lambeth Greens proposed scrapping many cabinet allowances
In 2022 they campaigned to scrap them
In 2024/25/26 they proposed massively cutting them
Within weeks of taking office in 2026 they proposed the most expensive allowances scheme on the table
Quite a journey 💸
Lambeth is in a financial crisis. But the Greens, now leading the council, proposed:
1. A higher allowance for the council leader.
2. Higher allowances for the two deputy council leaders and 7 full time equivalent Cabinet Members.
The hypocrisy is hard to miss
March 2026: Greens proposed cutting SRAs from £546k to £235k & abolishing Chief Whip allowance
June 2026: Greens proposed higher allowances for their Leader, Deputy Leaders & Cabinet an extra Chief Whip role
3 months - 2 very different positions
I am not using my account here to comment on things often, but this news story needs a comment:
How is it possible that a professional European politician in 2026 does not see the very obvious historical parallels of supporting the idea of creating lists of Jews?
Zack Polanski, the leader of the Green Party, has signed an open letter demanding that a database be created of 2,000 dual British-Israeli nationals called up for service since the terror attacks by Hamas on October 7 2023

Just to clear up a few things:
The English devo act had been going through Parli since last July so not new
Lambeth Greens committed to moving to a committee system even after the election and knowing about law changes
Greens tried to make create more jobs for more allowances
We wanted to move Lambeth to a committee based governance system, but national government changes made that model no longer possible. Here’s a quick explanation of what we’ve introduced instead and why
Great to be out campaigning with my friend Louie tonight. I’ve known him for over a decade & he’ll be a strong voice for Clapham Park.
He’s the only candidate in the by-election who has lived around Brixton Hill his entire life.
Local communities deserve local representation💪
Henry Nowak’s death is being exploited by the far right. But the problem is wider. Fringe politics, left & right, turns tragedy into political opportunity, disagreement into betrayal, & opponents into enemies. That corrodes public life & degrades politics

Zack Polanski in 2016 making the point that rent controls don’t work.
When he was a proud Lib Dem and before he became a ‘radical socialist’.
Cue: pile on from devoted fans.

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Green by-election candidate Chris Kennedy shared posts on social media describing an attack on Jewish ambulances in north London as a “false flag”
When approached by The Times, he apologised for the posts and quit today citing "personal reasons"

The Green Party continues to employ an antisemitic conspiracy theorist as their main filmmaker. Jeremy Clancy’s latest campaign video was for newly elected Hackney mayor Zoë Garbett, one of many he has made for Zack Polanski’s party.🧵1/3
RT @MayorofLondon: One city. 9 million people. All of us Londoners. We will never be divided.

Thank you to everyone in Lambeth who put their trust in me over 12 years, to the staff at Lambeth Council, and to the residents, volunteers and community organisations in Brixton Rush Common who do so much for our area. None of this work is ever done alone
Politics has changed a lot over the last 12 years - online debate is harsher, anti-incumbent politics is much stronger, and sadly too many are quick to assume the worst motives. Serious public service still matters though and I hope all councillors in Lambeth will put that first
Case in point. No one asked me for the facts. No one checked. Just a false claim as if it must be true. For the record I do not rent a house for myself or own rental property as a landlord. My register of interests was up to date. This kind of bad-faith stuff makes politics worse
