Some great advice on how to keep warm, plan ahead and prepare your home on #InformationNow. 🚨 With a Yellow Alert issued 🚨 it’s really important to look after yourself and to ensure some of the more vulnerable people in the city are appropriately supported.
With a yellow alert issued for snow and ice in the UK, its time to keep warm, plan ahead, prepare your home, look after yourself and others Read more: informationnow.org.uk/.../ke…

Kudos to @gonortheast for their app which allows me to buy a ticket to travel on the metro through my iPhone. Something that I can’t do with @My_Metro Pop Card. When you look through all the different options for tickets though it’s a very complicated picture. Hopefully something that will become easier with NECA. We need to make it simpler for people to travel across the region.

What a fab idea from North East mayor @KiMcGuinness for new Tyne ferry connecting Tynemouth to Newcastle. Would love to see this happen be great for tourism for the region. Especially if it was introduced alongside a simpler fare system for buses and metros.

We are so proud of our city 🖤 There was a lot of concern across the city that we would experience disorder and violence tonight. Instead we saw a Newcastle united by love, hope and pride in our city. This is our City. A City of Sanctuary 🤝 chroniclelive.co.uk/news/nor…

Just back from a great weekend in Poland 🇵🇱 brilliant local transport and used the trains and buses extensively. While it’s great to see new metros ordered for the region. Surely there are some quick wins to make the metro more accessible maybe an app for iPhone to buy tickets?

Some more ticket machines, an update on the software to speed up purchasing? Some working signage to let visitors know when trains will arrive while they wait for ticket machines? A deep clean of the station? Is any of the possible @My_Metro

Be great to have a bit more pride when we welcome visitors to Newcastle. If we are going to compete internationally and attract people and business to the region we definitely need to raise our game.
