“LeBron can’t just go to the rim everytime” so here’s the thing.
LeBron's half-court creation TS% is never going to be all-time because of his relatively low FT% and weak midrange game. It's just the simple math of scaling up on ball the half court.
He can't just get to the rim every time down given the double teams he faces and inevitably has to settle for lower % middies.
Most of his career he shot in the 30s from midrange. He himself says he was an undisciplined jump shooter earlier in his career. It was a big drag on his efficiency (which was still awesome overall because of his GOAT rim finishing).
Additionally, being only 75% from the line loses him a good amount of creation TS% relative to the top creation players of all time who shoot in the mid 80s or higher.
That being said, he's an elite playmaker who can capitalize on the enormous defensive attention he draws while attacking the rim which improves his teammate's shooting. So overall, obviously, he's great on-ball. You don't want him taking a ton of midrange shots though. It is an enormous win for the defense.
He is among the best transition players of all time as well and creates additional transition opportunities for his team. He also knows how to play off of other good players and cut for easy baskets.
He's so incredibly dominant at these other areas i mention that if his creation TS% was top tier there would be no LeBron/Jordan debate. Just think about it. If LeBron's midrange was elite and he shot 85 from the line he would have like 9 or 10 rings right now.
