Announcing my new book: 'Death by Screens: how to present high-stakes digital design work and live to tell the tale' - coming this spring!
Who is it for, and how can it help? 👇
Hey India! In October I'm speaking/workshopping at @DesignUpConf in BLR this year, along with some wonderful folks like @krishashok .
Check out the lineup! 24.designup.io/
Leaving a prediction here just in case this platform exists in a few years. If Britain gets bland centrist policy now, it will go the way of the rest of Europe and open the door to facists.
@bensauer Death by Screens might be one of the most practically applicable books I've ever read (both from a designer and non designer POV)
Particularly liked your story from imitating alexa yourself during a presentation issue
Nothing is what the Tories say it is.
Brexit was about them getting rich
Leaving the ECHR is about them getting rich.
We'll keep showing you the evidence...
Join us at Stopthetories.vote to tactically vote them out of power for a generation.
@MVTFWD for Proportional representation
We are loading up our data for the local elections very soon 👍🏼🤍

Nothing is what the Tories say:
Brexit wasn't about sovereignty, it's about them getting rich.
Leaving the ECHR isn't about refugees, it's about them getting rich.
Funding isn't about levelling up, same again..
Lower taxes isn't about hard working families, and again.
"The simplest way to clarify your thinking is to write a full page about whatever you are dealing with and then delete everything except the 1-2 sentences that explain it best."

Very close to what I recommend in bensauer.net/deathbyscreens
If you're a designer or design reacherer looking to switch from telling a story toi crafting a narrative, I've got two resources for you. The first is this book from my friend @bensauerbensauer.net/deathbyscreens/

dear design job candidates: PDF documents can contain links!
Want me to look at your beautifully crafted portfolio? Make that click easy. Copy and paste or type is super-unreliable.
Launched the Poem/1 Kickstarter today, and absolutely blessed with @ctrlzee telling the story behind it in Fast Company @FastCoDesign
(Putting the link in the next post so this doesn't get buried by the algo...)
Crafts-people like to think we live in a just meritocracy. Where the best product or service always wins. In reality it doesn’t matter how good (or sometimes bad) the offering is. Instead the people who win are the ones who are the best at fundraising, positioning and selling.
For designers looking to get better at presenting and influencing through storytelling, I highly recommend this new book by @bensauerbensauer.net/deathbyscreens/
The thing I can't get out of my head about this Michelle Mone thing ... I remember 2020 clearly ... I remember listening to phone-in shows on radio and there were long-standing British companies ringing in to say they made ventilators or PPE and couldn't get through to the govt.
