Getting a language model like Llama oder Alpaca running on your local boring hardware is some kind of technology wizardry and awakening I haven't experience for a very long time. I'm even confuzzled how the structure of the prompts correlate with the output. Really a blast…

I just tried #BingChat and it was a rather repelling expierience. In the screenshoted scenario it states completely false facts with a disturbing confidence in his "voice". These #fake facts only turn out to be utterly wrong on checking its claimed sources manually!

#Security risk ahead: You probably already heard about the latest move from #Docker to extort #organization repository users $420/y or they'll get deleted. Popular #FOSS #OpenSource projects typically a) are using organizations over personal accounts (not affected) and…

b) might also not be able to pay. This makes reputable and popular images vulnerable for account takeover. If you're running #Watchtower for auto-updates it's probably best to stop it NOW! blog.alexellis.io/docker-is-…

Highly recommended essay on #ChatGPT and general primer on language models and #AI #ML in general by Stephen Wolfram himself. Be warned: Very long and beefy essay but with great insights! writings.stephenwolfram.com/…

This new feature demo of #Microsoft #AI-powered #Bing and #Edge is really, really impressive: This removes the need to scrape the top search results hits on your own to get first summaries and also can summarize i.e. a PDFs right from inside Edge. ChatGPT yewtu.be/watch?v=rOeRWRJ16yY…

this the most ⚛️ threejs experiment so far: codesandbox.io/s/aquarium-fo… each letter contains a self contained world, a demo i've made in the past. they remain fully interactive. may not seem special but look into the code, this kind of interop is why react's making such a difference

This is a reminder to use movetodon.org one more time before the watertight doors on the Titanic close. Seems my teardown/sunsetting here gets another boost.

Starting February 9, we will no longer support free access to the Twitter API, both v2 and v1.1. A paid basic tier will be available instead 🧵

Nice - first real #ChatGPT value: Received unsolicited email from a recruiter. Pasted Email and added "Please write a kind response telling Ricky, that I'm not interested and [mycorp] has a global HR department for that." Just worked good enough. Yay! 3 minutes lifetime saved!

Can somebody enlighten me, please? What's the deal with these new 2-step #login schemes popping up at over the internet? Those asking you first on your login handle; then requiring to click "Next" before you can enter your #password. MFA involved? Another 3rd step, yay! WAT?

Even their own Status Page is down for me sometimes. The root problem also does not help with my general reservations on transforming the Internet from a decentralized systems to an increasingly centralized system again
