You got to be really careful around someone who has intellectual horsepower like this, but is capable of playing dumb most of the time. Sociopath archetype

AI is potentially a Dunning-Kruger effect amplifier; D-K is already somewhat of an operational problem for society, amplifying it could tend to accelerate idiocracy. hopefully AGI fixes or narrow AIs get smarter at avoiding a midwit-glazing input loops. x.com/adam3us/status/2066768…

Replying to @brian_trollz
Shows the limitations of AI slop - midwit glazing phenomena unfortunately, as the AIs can regurgitate confused claims from other users with the right prompts. Plus AI can be extra dumb on specialist technical topics with large ratio of false input slop.

You invest in SpaceX and make 8% a day I invest in a crappy community bank with thinly-traded shares that loses me 0.08% per day for 16 months until it finally gets bought out and I make 100% in one day

Jalen Brunson left $100M on the table so the Knicks can recruit better players. This means you should take less money so your company can recruit better employees.

It's incredible that just ~2% of Americans owned any stocks in 1929. Equity ownership is... a pretty recent phenomenon.

USA. A Mexican restaurant. We had not yet ordered anything, and the food was already arriving. Chips. Salsa. Unrequested. Free. I stopped the waiter. "We have not earned these." "They just come with the table, man." They come with the TABLE. In my land, hospitality is a debt. Every gift creates an obligation, weighed carefully, returned in the proper season with interest of feeling. Here, the gift arrives before you have even proven you can pay for dinner. This is not an appetizer. This is a declaration: we trust you. Eat. I ate with the gravity the moment deserved. And then — I must report this calmly — the basket emptied, and a new one appeared. "Did we…?" "Refill," the waiter said. "It's bottomless." Bottomless. They have wells of salsa. The supply lines of this nation are beyond anything my ancestors imagined. My friend warned me. "Don't fill up on chips, dude." Too late. I had accepted three baskets. Honor demanded each one be finished — an unfinished gift is an insult. By the time my actual food arrived, I was a ruined man. I was not hungry. I was not comfortable. I had been defeated by a courtesy. Generosity that arrives before the request cannot be repaid. It can only be survived. I know the rule now. I have made my peace with the basket. One basket. Two at the most. Who am I deceiving. There is no number of baskets I would refuse. The trust of a nation is in that salsa, and I intend to honor all of it.

Start investing at least $500/month in the S&P500 so you aren’t broke at 50 like this
I am 52 years old. I have been working since I was 15 years old. I have no savings, no retirement, and will never own a home before I die. And there is now a trillionaire.

Late in games, the clock is your main opponent You just need to get to 0:00 … ignore scoring opportunities that give the ball back Here’s a great example
You always pull the ball out with a lead and a low clock. In 1990 Finals, Henderson scored the layup but it gave the Trail Blazers a chance to tie it with a 3. (Shot was slightly late but my point stands). This is why Fox should not have gone for the layup in Game 4
