Analysis by @guardian shows between 2010-11 & 2022-23 real terms council spending fell in all areas bar social care:
- cultural services cut by 43%,
- roads & transport by 40%
- housing by 35%
- planning & development by a third
And more planned cuts ahead…
I was lucky enough to have a sneak preview of this and can say it's great - must read for anyone interested not only in parks but also local government & cultural/social infrastructure
So it turns out Blue Monday is when Culture, Participation, Policy and the Municipal Public Park is published @Palgrave
Thanks to everyone who helped get it out - for all who love & understand the cultural importance of parks 💚
