Earlier today, state-hired goons stormed a Post-Budget Dialogue Forum at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi, @allsaintsnrb where Transparency International Kenya and other Civil Society Organisations gathered to discuss the 2026-2027 budget presented yesterday.
The meeting sought to assess how well the budget addressed citizen concerns.
One of the assailants was arrested, upon which he stated that a government official had sent them. The goons stole some valuables, including a phone, during the incident.
We condemn this act of intimidation and assert that it will not deter us from scrutinising the budget. We will continue to demand that the interests of the people of Kenya be at the forefront.
