Presented results from my research on the genetic control of resistance to Meloidogyne enterolobii in cowpea at the @SouthCoverCrops Conference in Gainesville. Great talks, and I especially enjoyed the farmers panel and the field tour!

Field day yesterday transplanting red clover! One thing I like about being in my lab is working across multiple crops like clovers, alfalfa, ryegrass, and cowpea (my focus). That range teaches skills you can apply in any breeding program after PhD!!

Happy to have won the 2nd place for my oral presentation at the BIC/NAPIA Annual Meeting in Nebraska. I presented our work on Meloidogyne enterolobii resistance in cowpea. Huge thanks to the organizers, my advisor, & UF Nematode Assay Lab led by @NematodeGuy, for the support!

Florida’s muck soils trap phosphorus, which affects lettuce yields & shelf life. Our PhD Candidate Jairo Arcos, is boosting phosphorus use efficiency (PUE) by transferring traits from tolerant lines to elite cultivars. Less waste. More freshness.

Last week, our lab hosted the USDA-NIFA REEU students at UF. I gave a hands-on demo on how to make crosses in alfalfa, and Dr @ForageBreeding shared our research and gave a tour of the breeding facilities. Thanks to @ziynetboz for coordinating this great program!
