🔺 Iran has launched a nationwide volunteer recruitment campaign as senior officials warn any U.S.-Israeli ground escalation would trigger a mass national response, according to state media and the Financial Times.
Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Iran does not seek war but would respond forcefully to any attack, warning President Donald Trump that aggression would mean confronting the entire nation. He said millions have already mobilized, with roughly 7 million people declaring readiness to defend the country.
Separately, the IRGC has expanded recruitment efforts, including calls for youths, as the state calls on citizens to defend against U.S.-Israeli threats.
Human Rights Watch said the campaign may involve child recruitment, calling on authorities to halt the effort and noting that using children under 15 in hostilities constitutes a war crime.
