The North American transportation sector descended on Detroit this week for @ITS_America. Detroit led the last century of global mobility on the ground, in the form of the automobile. At ITS America this year, we saw Detroit leading again - this time as mobility rises into the air. Fealty is becoming a standard issue autonomous drone system in the transportation sector. Deployed across trucking centers, vehicle lots, container terminals, cargo yards, and other critical transportation sites, Fealty delivers around-the-clock coverage and aerial awareness - watching over the infrastructure that keeps freight moving. Michigan is pulling ahead as the leader of the new American drone industry. Birdstop Founder/CEO Keith Miao joined Jared Stasik (@dvpfund ), Casie Ocaña (@AUVSI ), and Jason Watt (Coleman A. Young International Airport) to unpack the factors behind Michigan’s rapid ascension. The group discussed Detroit hosting the world’s largest drone conference last month, what Michigan can manufacture right now, how policymakers are working with industry, and how America’s automotive supply chain is becoming its drone supply chain. Thank you to @MichiganCentral for hosting. #MadeInMichigan #Detroit #DroneTech #Autonomy #HardTech
Less than 1% of the world’s drones are built in the US… But Michigan Central and Detroit-based Birdstop are on a mission to change that. Detroit has always been the engine of the automotive industry, and now we’re leveraging that same expertise to make it the drone capital of the world. To find out how, watch the full roundtable discussion here: youtu.be/DLdvdq0TLko

Nearly 80% of Fealty is now built using parts from the existing American automotive supply chain. Last week, @FastCompany featured Birdstop and how this approach is changing the economics and velocity of American drone production. “In its search for ways to better manufacture drones amid a surge of demand for domestically produced unmanned aerial vehicles, Birdstop decided to make use of one of the country’s most expansive industrial sectors.” Read the full story: fastcompany.com/91549940/thi… #MadeInMichigan #DroneTech #BuiltInDetroit #AmericanManufacturing fastcompany.com/91549940/thi…

Holly Oaks Off Road Vehicle Park is where automakers like Ford put vehicles through their worst day. Last week, Fealty was also put to the test there. Fealty shared the dirt with the dirt bikes, ATVs, and Broncos the park was built for. The same terrain those vehicles come to be tested on is the terrain our customers deploy in. Thank you to Holly Oaks for hosting. Curious how Fealty would perform on your site? Contact us at birdstop.io/contact #OffRoadTested #MadeInMichigan #DroneTech #Autonomy #BuiltInDetroit

Michigan has more FIRST Robotics Competition teams (531) than California and Texas combined (477). These are the engineers who will build the next generation of the American industrial base. For Birdstop, that talent pipeline is a primary reason we are building in Detroit. The Birdstop team spent last Wednesday evening with Michigan student robotics teams, one of the deepest talent pipelines in the country. Detroit did not just shape the last century of American manufacturing, it has also been a cradle of invention in the arts. We were thrilled to see the Belleville Three - the inventors of Techno (yes, Detroit invented Techno) - stroll in and speak with the students. We all look forward to seeing how the creative and the technical sides of Detroit converge as it redefines what American manufacturing looks like in the age of software and AI. #MadeInMichigan #Detroit #Robotics #Autonomy #AmericanManufacturing

Safe deployment starts long before a system ever reaches the field. Fealty goes through testing, refinement, and ongoing validation to support the kind of operational readiness public safety, infrastructure, and security environments demand. Once airborne, it can reach up to 60 mph and stay in the air up to 51 minutes. After flight, the system lands precisely and recharges automatically on the perch, helping reduce the need for constant on-site personnel surveillance. This is what turns Fealty from a drone into a system built for continuous operational readiness. Because when a system is expected to perform in real conditions, the details matter. #FlightTesting #OperationalReadiness #DroneTechnology #CriticalInfrastructure #SecurityTechnology #AerialSystems #DroneOperations #OperationalScale #AerialSystems #SecurityTechnology #CriticalInfrastructure #MissionCriticalSystems

At Xponential this week, our CEO, Keith Miao, and VP of Engineering, Jatin Kolekar, joined a UAS Supply Chain workshop to discuss how the expanded FCC Covered List is reshaping the drone industry. The conversation kept coming back to one question: where do American drones actually come from? Supply chain is no longer a technical detail. It is the line between programs that will still be flying in a few years and programs that won't. Our drones are made in America, in Detroit. We have been building for this from day one. If you're headed to Xponential this week, come see our drones in person at Pavilion 38036 inside Automation Alley. #AUVSI #Xponential #AmericanManufacturing #BuiltInDetroit #DroneSupplyChain

Detroit is becoming a drone capital, and it's happening because city leaders are getting hands-on with the technology themselves. Last week, members of Mayor Mary Sheffield's administration spent the afternoon at Birdstop HQ. Thank you to Marlo Rencher, Chief of Neighborhood Economic Development and Small Business, and Ryan Michael, Deputy Chief of Business Innovation and Emerging Industries, for backing the technicians and pilots who are building the next generation of American drones. The future of American manufacturing is being written in Detroit. #AmericanMade #BuiltInDetroit #AmericanManufacturing #Autonomy #DroneTech

We're heading to AUVSI Xponential in Detroit and we'd love to see you there. Come find Fealty at Pavilion 38036, May 12 through 14.  Fealty is built for more than a drone in a case- perch-mounted for continuous visibility, launching in ~3 seconds and auto-recharging to stay ready. With up to 60 mph speed, 51-minute flight time, and EO/IR payloads, it’s designed for public safety, critical infrastructure, warehouse security, and other large-scale operations. If your team is evaluating drone technology for public safety, site security, or critical infrastructure, this is the right conversation to have. To schedule a meeting ahead of the show, contact Marc Miller at marc.miller@birdstop.io. #Xponential #AUVSI #DroneTechnology #PublicSafetyTechnology #CriticalInfrastructure #AerialIntel #DetroitManufacturing

The strongest buyers are asking better questions. They want to understand whether a system improves visibility, supports faster decisions, and fits the actual environment their teams are responsible for. That is the direction this market should be moving. #DroneIndustry #OperationalFit #AerialIntel #CriticalInfrastructure #SecurityTechnology #DroneSystems

One perch. Continuous coverage. Fealty monitors your site around the clock and deploys in under 5 seconds when something changes. Whether you're running a warehouse yard, a construction site, or a public-sector facility, the same problem keeps coming up: you don't know what's happening until it's already a problem. Fealty sits on standby 24/7, capturing data continuously and launching at 60 mph the moment it's needed. No pilot on site. No gaps in coverage. Just aerial intelligence that's always working. #SiteVisibility #DroneSecurity #IndustrialSecurity #PerimeterMonitoring #AerialAwareness

Nine FAA waivers for beyond visual line of sight operations. More than any other drone company in the US. Fealty flies pre-programmed missions, streams live video, runs AI the entire time, and lands itself. No pilot on site required. #PublicSafetyTechnology #InfrastructureSecurity #DroneOperations #AerialAwareness #SiteVisibility #CriticalInfrastructure

An inside look at where Fealty comes together. Every drone that leaves Birdstop's Detroit facility has gone through hours of extensive testing and flight validation before it ever reaches a customer. That process covers sensors, software, power systems, communications, and the perch, because in the environments Fealty operates in, there's no room for a system that isn't ready. Built in Detroit. American-made. Designed for public safety, site security, warehouse monitoring, and critical infrastructure. #DetroitManufacturing #Engineering #DroneTechnology #AerialIntel #AmericanMade #Fealty #BuiltInDetroit

When something changes on a warehouse floor, a utility site, or a crowded public corridor, the window to get eyes on it is short. Fealty deploys in under 5 seconds and reaches speeds up to 60 mph, so your team has aerial visibility before the situation develops. No waiting, no repositioning, no blind spots while personnel are still in transit. That's what rapid aerial intel actually looks like in practice.
