Sure I created a network of hostels in underserved cities that desperately needed alternative housing options.. It extended peoples options & reach. Activated dead zone neighborhoods, affordable downtown location, created serendipitous environments for human connections. We hosted the coolest bitcoin meetups & a livestream music venue

9 years ago when I predicted AI agents trading bitcoin, bitcoiners thought I was crazy Now @coinbase allows agents to trade. It’s much more difficult to see that far into the future… I’d say 2-3 years is impressive. @a16zcrypto @jespow @jack

Reasons Crypto is so interesting to me now: - Private Money for everyone (not just elites) - Rapidly Evolving - Programable Money - Crypto is the currency of AI

Dwarkesh asks Dario a fantastic question relating to how he is so bullish on AGI yet so conservative on data center build out - Dario has an amazing take on this: Dario Amodei details the staggering financial risk of the AI race, explaining that if growth continues at 10x a year, a company could be looking at a $1 trillion revenue run rate by the end of 2027. He notes that to support this, a firm might buy $5 trillion worth of compute. However, he highlights a "ruinous" dilemma: if that revenue is even slightly lower than projected. specifically if it comes in at $800 billion instead of $1 trillion the company would collapse. He explains that if you are off by just a year or if the growth rate drops to 5x, "there's no force on earth, there's no hedge on earth, that could stop me from going bankrupt" after committing to that level of spend. Because of this, Amodei argues that "behaving responsibly" means not just "yoloing" hundreds of billions of dollars. He suggests that some competitors may not have "written down the spreadsheet" and don't fully grasp the existential risks they are taking with these massive, unhedged bets on infrastructure.

Uplifting fun fact: ā€œThe zombie rugby phenomenon has become one of the most electrifying and unifying traditions in modern sport, with tens of thousands of Irish fans belting out The Cranberries' "Zombie" in perfect harmony to create spine-tingling atmospheres in stadiums around the world. The powerful, anthemic chorus has elevated post-match celebrations to unforgettable emotional highs, strengthening bonds among supporters and giving the Irish team an incredible home-like advantage even on foreign soil. Fans and players alike cherish it as a heartfelt tribute to Dolores O'Riordan's legacy, turning a beloved 90s classic into a soaring symbol of passion, pride, and togetherness in Irish rugby.ā€

As they say, things always seem impossible until they are done. While few still doubt that we can clean up large amounts of plastic, I don’t think most people realize that we now have all the tools to actually make the ocean clean again. If we can return this part of the ocean to a clean state, we have the opportunity to open the world’s eyes to the fact that dirty oceans are not an inevitability.

Realized I owe you an update on what’s been going on with @TheOceanCleanup’s work to clean up the Gulf of Honduras! Since 2023, we’ve been intercepting trash flowing down Guatemala’s RĆo Motagua (the most plastic-polluted river on Earth), with steadily increasing performance. This is reflected in our annual catches from the Motagua: • 2023: 4,271 metric tons • 2024: 9,552 metric tons • 2025: 17,025 metric tons (and counting) This year, we reached the point where almost all the trash flowing down this river is being intercepted and no longer reaches the Gulf of Honduras. This is very good news for the Caribbean, and I’m extremely proud of the team and our local partners (including @marnguate) for getting us to this point! So… are we done? Not yet! First, we want to try to capture the final few % of trash that still reaches the Gulf by adding a few more barriers to our existing deployments. Second, we now need to clean up decades of legacy pollution that has washed up along the shorelines of the Gulf and continues to affect the ecosystem and local communities. Only once this is done can we truly claim success over plastic pollution in this part of the world’s ocean. We will work hard to try to make this happen in 2026.

When I was still a student at the conservatory, my professors used to call me ā€˜Beethoven Girl’. Not just because I was the best Beethoven player they had, you see I had an unhealthy obsession with trying to get these notes to resonate at Beethoven’s truest intent. I read what he read. I ate what he ate. I engulfed myself in Voltaire and Kant to breathe the same air of Enlightenment he breathed. To experience the frequencies he could not hear but were realer to him than his own reality. I learned from his students directly — Wilhelm Kempff and John O’Conor. When I realized every piece of sheet music was altered by production for copyright purposes, I flew to Europe to get my hands on the First Edition of Beethoven Sonatas from Budapest. I hand painted this specific third movement on the walls of my dorm. I graduated the conservatory with this as my final performance and went on to use it for my audition piece to get accepted as a fine arts major in university. The piece in its entirety is 1 hour long. Here is Beethoven’s Sonata No 17 in D minor, the third movement—Tempest—performed to the enlightenment with which he originally intended. Yours truly, Beethoven Girl
