Digital analyst who worked the Kohberger case note that if a suspect had a phone with WiFi enabled, Nancy Guthrie home router logs may have recorded it.
Smartphones constantly scan for nearby WiFi networks by sending probe requests while searching for a connection, meaning the device can briefly appear in router logs even if it never actually connects.

Today I went to my 87 year old grandmothers house to try and fix her Alexa devices, bc we use them as her lifeline if she were to fall because she lives by herself. The Alexa account is tied to an @Xfinity email account she and my grandfather shared, but he passed away several..

..transferred to someone else and he refused. I asked him how to file a complaint for refusing to transfer me - he refused to tell me. He hung up on me. My 87 year old grandma started crying because she is “such a pain” and “wasted my whole afternoon.” @comcast shame on you.

This is the absolute worst version of customer experience I have ever experienced. My elderly grandmas lifeline to continue to live alone was on the line and despite every sensible effort - you hung up on me, and if something happens to her your customer support is to blame.

Today, the House passed the TAKE IT DOWN Act to protect children victimized by the distribution of authentic and digital forgery nude and exploitative images that do not constitute CSAM.
For the first time, social media companies will be required to remove intimate images of children when hosting these images and the distribution of these images will be criminalized. NCMEC looks forward to President @realDonaldTrump signing the bill into law and thanks @FLOTUS, @SenTedCruz, @SenAmyKlobuchar, @RepMariaSalazar, and @RepDean for their leadership.

Safeguarding our children against continued victimization after being exploited is a no-brainer. Great work as always, @NCMEC
The TAKE IT DOWN Act contains an important provision to create a process for victims to report an actual or digital forgery exploitative image in which the child is depicted and request removal. Platforms would have 48 hours to remove the material or face financial penalties.
NCMEC’s Chief Legal Officer, Yiota Souras, discussed this critical provision at a recent @HouseCommerce hearing. NCMEC encourages members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee to support the TAKE IT DOWN Act at tomorrow’s markup.
