The analytics world is moving from BI to AI. This isn’t just about enabling insights, it’s about powering actions. To make this real analytical data needs to work at the speed of operational applications. @confluentinc and @Databricks are partnering to make this happen: connecting Delta Lake and Unity to real-time streams with Tableflow. Like most of the software engineer, I'm tapping into GenAI and it turns out that every time I use ChatGPT to help me scafholding some code or technical configuration, it messes up by doing many mistakes. When reporting those mistakes, it answers with more stuff that doesn't work

and we're going into circles... So for me the bottom line is that the current generation is not threatening at all developpers jobs as a big part of the job is to integrate technologies in applications and for the time being, GenAI sucks at it. Who thinks differently?

Something tells me he’s not a Kafka user.
Tech sales is wild sometimes. Confluent is a glorified wiki that barely works and they grow 38% in the middle of a recession. The only excuse I can think of is that it’s such a tedious tool to replace with poor alternatives that procurement always delays it for another year.
