I've now sold 29 songs, all made using @SunoMusic. Wrestler walkouts, a magician’s intro, commercials, D&D campaign anthems, even birthday love songs. ⚔️💕 Each track takes 3–10 hours hundreds of generations to nail at the pro level. Today, I realized something... 🧵

Generation is a search function. Every generation = a query into Songspace... The domain of all possible songs.🤯

The process feels creative—but more like producing than strumming a guitar (I’ve done both). You’re the one with the cigar, guiding musicians to bring your vision to life. What you really bring is perspective. Your ear. Your decisions. I hope more people try this. It’s misunderstood right now, but it can be so rewarding. Cathartic, even.

Why does OpenAI have this weird history of their whole platform going down in flames any time they launch something? Day 4 of "12 days of OpenAI" and it's feeling like a bad idea...

Mechamorphic: attributing uncanny qualities to art that is realistic or human-generated, as part of a fear-based bias against AI-generated art. Often accompanied by the words “soulless” or “dead”, and feelings of anger or dread of being replaced. Antonym: Anthropomorphic

This leads to a strange future where your bots call my bots and game out an optimal outcome. Fascinating. And possibly dystopian?

So, OpenAI's #strawberry: - Is not perceived as much stronger - Takes 10 seconds to respond - Isn't a new model We're missing something. My guess: it's a general agent like AgentGPT, AutoGPT, BabyAGI, etc. They fine-tuned GPT-4o-mini and built some new agentic infrastructure/API.

I turned my favorite book into an AI film. In 1-2 years, authors will be able to have the option to let readers watch their books. If you haven't read @mattdinniman's #DungeonCrawlerCarl, you should check out @FiatCelebrity's full audio production of it. #RunwayGen3 #Minimax

In 2019, @RichardSSutton, a prominent figure in reinforcement learning, wrote one of the most insightful essays on AI development to date. Although it has sparked controversy, it's even more relevant today. Here's a quick summary🧵

The new trend: keep asking GPT-4v for more of the same thing, and you get a gradual apotheosis that ends with an abstract, ascended version of it. #ChatGPT4

Woof, @sama fired from OpenAI. Worst case is it has to do with scaling the costs of inference. The timing with the ask for more money to pursue AGI is troubling.

GPT-based games everybody. Imagine how good old school MUDs could be with this tech.
On THE #AI Bot Show episode 10, @bmackay shows off a 'Gladiator Fight Simulator' he wrote in C# youtu.be/e2c4CEncgnw using many useful tools for developing GPT API apps.

Generating terrible songs with AI is easy. Putting together something a pro musician wants to work with is something else entirely.
Watch me and @bmackay start writing a song youtu.be/pF7unEQsLMk with the help of GPT.

Not all large language models become chatbots! @bmackay talks on DotNetRocks at dotnetrocks.com/details/1861 about implementations of large language models within applications that help with the summarization and aggregation of language in your application!
