Rebecca Busfield was honoured to be asked to write a profile for #EY #UK's first Alumni Network news digest. I joined EY's graduate rotation scheme after a short stint at a Lloyd's of London syndicate, and it was a supportive space to pass my chartered tax exams and grow professionally. I learnt from some of the best #tax technical and business brains. This knowledge, combined with the amazing network, allowed me to start my own #HMRC investigation business. EY has a diverse, global community and I am looking forward to seeing what my fellow alumni are up to in the new look Portal.  alumni.ey.com

In Saxon Woods the #CourtofAppeal overturned the #HighCourt’s decision, ruling that a #director’s duty to act in good faith includes, as a core fiduciary duty, a requirement that the director act honestly towards the #company. The test for honesty must also be assessed objectively (by the standards of ordinary decent people). directors cannot rely on their subjective belief as a shield for what is objectively dishonest conduct, even if a director believes that their actions will benefit the company in the long run. accountancydaily.co/legal-up… via @accountancylive
