This really shows through on people in positions of power in an organization that shouldn’t be there. Their off the shelf personality dictates an answer that serves their chosen personality over truth. A high agency person is not handcuffed to the perception of others.
Alex Hormozi dissects what actually makes someone exceptional. "Most people take their personalities off the shelf. When you meet that guy in 5 seconds, you're like, I get it. He bought his personality off the shelf. He didn't want to think for himself." "It's the number of skills that you can demonstrate depth within that don't typically go together. That tends to be an indication of somebody who's high agency. They're able to make up their mind on their own independently. When you do end up thinking for yourself, you end up being very unique."

Omg I finished my workflow just in time. I had a crazy complex Ad strategy that loaded like 50 training docs and Fable was the only model that could do it. Was planning it for days before running it and it nailed it. In other news, my ads have exploded and costs are down lol
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

I’m building a multi agent set up that’s insane for Brushworks. 7 different agents each with different access, roles, and responsibilities. That’s not very unique though, many have done that… but… it gets better… Every agent is also generating SOPs as tasks are completed and decided upon. Not just SOPs for future agents, but also for humans. There’s also an agent whose only job is to review the SOPs and fine tune them. But wait… there’s more… I also have a Hermes agent that monitors and acts as a system admin to fix errors and refine the overall system. It’s the only way I could come up with to build a repeatable system around my agentic use so I can work myself out and replace my roles with employees in the future. It’s wild.

If you’re building an app to make a profit, build the full version first, then take features away. That’s how you create your pricing tiers

There’s a reason many companies don’t show up for quotes or follow through. Their schedules are already full and adding on more work makes them less money. Let’s say your salesperson can reasonably handle $1M per year in sales with a full quoting schedule. Now let’s say you want to hit $3M. Well you need 3 sales people now, and with 3 sales people you need a sales manager. The same is true for your work crews. Your overhead gets higher and higher, you’re doing more revenue, but you’re actually making less money as the owner. So most home service businesses either stop accepting work because more work means less money. Or they scale their price with the scale of their overhead and they become very expensive. Most choose to just stop at the sweet spot, and for the buyer, that means no follow up if your job isn’t profitable enough or no quote if their schedule is already going to meet their goal.
I know “just answer the phone” has become cliché advice in home services But I see posts like this in local Facebook groups constantly People begging for companies who: - actually show up - communicate - follow through That alone is enough to win a surprising amount of business. It’s definitely a volume game but there’s a market for companies that are responsive, do good work, and charge enough to operate professionally long term.

I’ve found that the most successful people I meet are the ones who started into an industry they knew nothing about. It’s the people who don’t know any different that bring fresh ideas. Everyone else is wrapped up in how things are supposed to be.

There’s one of these going on next door to me in September. Builders come in and build these $3M homes on 2 acre lots and sell tickets to it. Used to be a farm. I’ve got 5 acres next door. Much better land. Might slap a sign out front. “$1M Make Me Move Sale!”
The Parade of Homes business model fills me with jealousy: - 50,000 tickets - $25 a ticket - 3 weeks total (13 operating days) - $1,250,000 in revenue ($96k per day.) - No cogs. You literally use other people’s homes for free. Unreal.

Met a business owner that has a 3 strikes rule and he actually follows it. If 3 major things go wrong in a day, he goes home.

One of the cool things I did with @gowithquo today… I am connected to their API. I had my AI agent browse through all communications and look for rough experience signals. It made a list of customer experiences where we could have done better. I then generated $40 Gift Cards in Shopify and emailed each one of those customers a link to get a free tshirt on shop.brushworksco.com I acknowledged where we could have done better and sent the gift card. Pretty cool.

Someone out there needs to do this for spec writers. A much simpler task imo. There’s a whole industry out there of guys getting paid 6 figures to look at blueprints and write out material lists. AI would crush this task
Architects used to draw every parking space by hand, this TestFit AI does the whole lot in seconds.

Business owners that solely rely on outreach sales put themselves in a tough spot. Your sales reps can and will handcuff you. A rep that is toxic to your company but makes up 30% of your sales revenue now has control over you. Marketing for inbound leads is the solution.

I’m in this strange dilemma with our YouTube channel where I can either make content for sales or content for views. A video with 5k views has helped us close $400k in sales. A video with a million views has closed $0. Our channel was never started to maximize view counts. It was started to support our sales funnel, and it has done an exceptional job at that. Almost every customer we work with has watched at least one of our job videos to understand the process and learn what forestry mulching actually is. But job videos aren’t that interesting to the broader YouTube audience. The stuff that gets views is how much money the business makes, how it’s run, equipment breakdowns, behind the scenes numbers, etc. It’s funny because everyone talks about maximizing views. But if you’re making content with intent, views can be one of the least important metrics. The right 5,000 views can be worth more than the wrong 1,000,000.

The most common limiting belief I hear from business owners is “Everyone knows who I am” No…they don’t. The people that say this are always wrong. Your customers from last year already forgot about you. You think Coca Cola stops their marketing because everyone knows them? Nah… they’re delivering bottles with camels into places you can’t find on a map.

I’ve been tasked with laying out my entire AI and marketing stack into a repeatable process anyone can do. This might be the most difficult thing I’ve ever done. My brain is fried. So far I’ve tallied up about 10 different full time jobs if you were to hire people to do all this instead of me. That’s one of the problems of pushing AI to the max. When it succeeds and you need to work yourself out of it to take on the next project, it’s very difficult.

There’s a marketing software I love. Well… the founder emailed me because she saw how I was using it and loved it. Then she added the idea natively into the software and hasn’t charged me for it since. Pretty sweet.
