Godot: The best example of why you don't write an engine in C/C . Why? It crashes more than it works.

Every chat program: A glorified web browser Every new non-Indie game: Upscaling almost a must A status bar on Linux: 500MB of RAM usage C/C devs: Hating on each other Rust devs: Overcomplicate everything Bring back good developers, software and games.

⚠️ UPDATE: The 2 major Instagram exploits we posted about are getting abused after quietly working for months. The method lets attackers take over accounts by using a VPN to match the account’s country region, starting a password reset, then convincing Meta’s AI support to swap the email. High-value usernames like @hey have reportedly been stolen, with over $1M in accounts already pulled over the past 3 days.

UE6 this, UE6 that. How about developers get proper training to learn UE5 so games don't need sad excuses like DLSS? If your game recommends frame-gen, then sorry but you've failed.

Creator of C , Bjarne Stroustrup: AI-generated code isn't ready β€” it generates more bugs, more bloat, more security holes, and is nearly impossible to validate "senior developers are already retiring rather than deal with it" The problem is that even a small prompt change can shift the entire codebase in unpredictable ways

"Not a happy marriage." @jsnover on why .NET and Windows have never gotten along. This clip has Bill Gates' obsession, the Longhorn disaster, Dave Cutler's backup tapes, and the day Notepad ballooned from 15KB to 15MB.

Use AI to rapidly prototype and give headstarts, don't just accept the results blindly unless you know every everything of what it does. Use it as a tool, not as a near-replacement.

How to bring maintenance-hell to your game engine: Introduce C#. Just write native code and wire your own scripting language for simpler gameplay logic, quit making excuses for glorified scripters.
