We are proud to publicly launch 'The Children Behind the Headlines' film. This 12-minute film raises awareness of the impact on children when one parent is imprisoned for killing the other parent, and demonstrates the importance of providing early, trauma-informed support. Thank you to
@JRCSFoundation for funding this film.
For too long, these children have been invisible. Schools and other professionals are largely unaware of the issues and support is patchy and inconsistent, depending on where children live and who happens to be there to help.

We are calling for specific asks from the UK Government, so that children are able to mitigate the impacts of their traumatic experiences and thrive into adulthood.
These include:
· Children’s voices at the centre: every child must have an advocate, and their wishes must shape every decision.
· Children to be identified to the local authority when one parent kills the other parent.
· Immediate specific training available for social workers, teachers and other professionals who are in contact with children affected by domestic homicide. This could be achieved within 6 months.
· The UK Government to include children affected by domestic homicide to be included in their upcoming Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) strategy.
