This type of thing is the beginning of the end of social media. No one will ever trust anything they see on a screen ever again. And they shouldn’t.
Mormon apostles, Raise your hand if your in on the grift:

Brighamites are mountain worshippers, like Jesus. And that shouldn’t change. BUT I think we should worship more with these types of groups. Nothing prohibits it and you might just make some friends and learn something!
Hot take: I think our church culture is too reverent at times when it can be more energetic and joyful. Ever since I served my mission in the South, I’ve always craved that energetic spirit I felt when I was with people of other faiths. Granted there’s a time and a place for everything, but give me the swaying, clapping, “Thank you Jesus” crowd over the “do you think she’s wearing her garments” crowd any day of the week.

Sacrifice means giving up something good for something better
Christians believe Jesus was a sacrifice for sin. What did Jesus lose, that made him a sacrifice? Doesn't sacrifice mean you don't get the thing you lose back?

Lol I have found this to be very true as well

Which part do you disagree with? It’s impossible to articulate the Trinity without someone claiming you’re committing a blasphemy.

You have people who will defend their own tribe, every time, no matter what. And then you have people who love the feeling of intellectual superiority in criticizing only their own tribe. You should be neither of these.

It’s just a difference in the fundamentals of what makes someone Christian. LDS say that it’s abt whether you are genuinely attempting to follow the Jesus written abt in the Bible, even if you’re wrong abt a good many things. Creedists say that it’s abt having a sufficient understanding of His nature such that you aren’t accidentally following a fake Jesus.
Why are both Mormons and Jehovahs Witnesses not considered Christian?

I am positive that God, at the very least, has no problem with me being Mormon. Here’s one reason why… Just before I severed my mission, my mom had another baby. I only had one other sibling at the time and we thought my mom couldn’t get pregnant anymore. My new sister was a miracle. I fell in love with that little girl. And I knew my 10-month-old sister would be a totally different person at nearly 3-years-old when I returned. I was absolutely devastated by the thought. The night before leaving to Utah, I knelt by my bed, crying, praying my heart out for more than an hour. Finally, my thoughts became still, peace came upon me, and in my mind’s eye, I saw the unmistakable vision of a scripture reference… “D&C 31” At 19-years-old, I was not familiar enough with the scriptures to know what on earth was in that section. But I opened it up and read the Lord’s words to Thomas B Marsh just before he left on his mission… 1 Thomas, my son, blessed are you because of your faith in my work. 2 Behold, you have had many afflictions because of your family; nevertheless, I will bless you and your family, yea, your little ones; and the day cometh that they will believe and know the truth and be one with you in my church. 3 Lift up your heart and rejoice, for the hour of your mission is come; and your tongue shall be loosed, and you shall declare glad tidings of great joy unto this generation. Say what you want about my religion. But God heard my prayer, answered it using LDS scriptures, and encouraged me to serve an LDS mission. You can be a fool and claim that my experience must have been Satan’s counterfeit. But that argument holds no water with me… I know what the peace of the holy spirit feels like. There’s lots of things Satan can mimic. But, not that. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. Or at the very least, God is fine with me being here and is perfectly capable of saving me as a Mormon. So, I don’t care what the world says. What greater witness can I have than from God?

Can anyone explain to me why the answers to any of these questions would merit exclusion from Christ’s salvation?
Mormons. LDS followers. Step right up and answer these questions. If you do so honestly, we might make some progress on why we can’t call you Christian: Does God the Father have a physical body of flesh and bones? (D&C 130:22) How does that square with John 4:24 — “God is spirit”? 2. Was God the Father once a man who progressed to godhood? (King Follett Discourse) How does that fit Isaiah 43:10 — “Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me”? 3. Are there many gods in existence, with Heavenly Father having his own Father? How does this align with Isaiah 44:6 — “I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no God”? 4. Did Jesus and Lucifer (Satan) exist as spirit brothers in a premortal life? How does that reconcile with John 1:3 and Colossians 1:16, where Jesus created all things? 5. Does the Bible teach creation ex nihilo (out of nothing), or did God organize eternal matter? How do you read Genesis 1:1 and Hebrews 11:3? 6. Can faithful humans be exalted to become gods, create worlds, and have spirit children? Doesn’t Isaiah 43:10 and 44:8 say there is no God formed before or after Him? 7. Is the historic Christian Church (post-apostles) in total apostasy, requiring Joseph Smith’s restoration? How does that fit Matthew 16:18 — “the gates of hell shall not prevail against it”? 8. Is the Bible the infallible Word of God, or only true “as far as it is translated correctly”? (8th Article of Faith) What does 2 Timothy 3:16 say about Scripture? 9. Is salvation by grace “after all we can do”? (2 Nephi 25:23) How does this match Ephesians 2:8-9 — “not a result of works”? 10. Is God eternally unchanging, or did He progress from man to God? (Malachi 3:6; James 1:17) If He progressed, how is He the same “yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8)?

As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are all united in faith and in our commitment to living the gospel. But unity does not mean uniformity. Our church congregations are like a beautiful mosaic—rich with diverse backgrounds, talents, and experiences.    I invite each of you to find and recognize your gifts so that you can use them to bless others and move the Lord’s work forward.

Jesus gave us the way to recognize if someone is Christian in John 13:34-35. Do you qualify? “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”

Christians giving sermons talk endlessly about the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. Christians arguing with Mormons downplay the importance of the Holy Ghost in a way that is borderline blasphemous. But, here’s the truth… Evangelicals can claim sola scriptura all they want… Catholics can cite their centuries old traditions all they want… And Latter-day Saints can cite modern prophetic revelation all they want… But, in the end, the appeal to authority cannot be validated without the confirmation of the Holy Ghost. And, the word of God- whether in canonized scripture or from a living oracle- cannot be received without the whispering of the Holy Ghost. That thing you downplay as “feelings” is actually divine revelation. And in the end, everything comes back to that.
Replying to @joshnaa2gez
Not only do you not believe in sola scriptura you don't believe in the infallibility or final authority of any book in existence. You have no foundation other than your feelings and the current winds of humanism influence on your church's theology.

I think possibly that the LDS “intelligence” category is a very similar if not identical category to Trinitarian/classical “substance”. In classical theology, God is not the only one with a substance, humans (and other things) have one too. Under Trinitarian thought, the God substance is the only eternal substance, whereas LDS say that human substance/intelligence is co eternal. But the category type looks the same to me.

Many Christians have full on periods of disbelief, but persevere following Jesus through that atheism and overcome. So how would that be different than this scenario?
I have a question for any Mormons/LDS willing to indulge me. I had a protracted discussion with one of your members* (nice guy and a good discussion), and at one point he told me that according to mormon understanding, an atheist who followed the teaching of Jesus Christ and showed love for others would be considered a Christian. The assumption was that the atheist held his position in good faith and was genuine in his disbelief of God. Do you all believe this? Is this true mormonism? *I won't mention his name because I don't intend to put him in the hot seat, and also to reduce risk in misrepresenting him. I would actually appreciate it if he kept his silence until others have had a chance to say their piece. Also, I have no intention of arguing the point in this thread. Peace. @KimballManner @jaredadairbell @Piecemaker2121 @OffensiveHugs @TeeplesCY @Sola_GPT @Manhattva

In recognition of the 250-year anniversary of the founding of the United States of America as a free and independent nation, Elder Quentin L. Cook and I discussed the importance of religious liberty and its underlying significance for the restored Church of Jesus Christ. We believe in religious liberty. As the Eleventh Article of Faith reminds us, “We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.”

If you ever wanted to know the real reason why so many people hate the Book of Mormon, especially on this app, it’s quite likely to be this verse. The devil and his servants would never say this, and they certainly don’t want anyone else saying it.
