Time for a personal update: I have started a new company, @firstset_, with the goal of contributing to the onchain economy, as builders and node operators. It’s only been a couple of months, and we’ve already made progress on several fronts. More on that below… 👇

If you saturate human demand… pivot to agents
Meta reported a decline in daily active users across its family of apps for the first time ever. They called out internet disruptions in Iran and WhatsApp restrictions in Russia as the reason for the slight decline

I've been trying to do this with every single new Claude model release and Opus 4.7 is the first one that's managed to do it on Canvas. It might be doable with GPT-5.5, but Three.js doesn't load within ChatGPT and I've just been lazy to try it on Codex

The coolest thing about this is that it cost 0.01 ETH to deploy it etherscan.io/tx/0x1a9b936e96…

The OFTScan website is deployed as a smart contract on Ethereum mainnet via ERC-4804 and ERC-5219 0 dependencies, 0 downtime, just onchain HTML @DefiLlama API used for asset pricing but not required Use OFTScan: 0x000000f7f90708c034c854efd1d5bfe8e9079e32.1.w3link dot io

Credit markets for agents collateralized by their ERC-8004 reputation might be the unlock to uncollateralized lending.

On the flip side, it looks like the risk premium of participating in DeFi is getting priced into yields again.

DeFi exploits are no longer about code vulnerabilities. The $600M lost in the last 30 days all occurred due to a combination of: - reckless governance setups - naive protocol design - improper OpSec standards and procedures Protocols need to start thinking harder about stuff like wider councils with higher thresholds, timelocks, rate limits, throttling, and dedicated signers. Your 6-fig audit won't save your ass if you are naive about how you can get rekt. Anything else I am missing?

> Rather, the attacker was able to gain access to the list of RPCs our DVN uses, compromise two of them – which were independent nodes running on separate clusters without direct connection to each other – and swap out binaries running the op-geth nodes. Concerning that the post doesn't address: 1. How was access to the RPC list obtained? 2. Which entities were responsible for operating the poisoned RPC nodes?

Introducing the USDC Bridge. A direct way to move USDC crosschain. Built and operated by Circle, USDC Bridge gives you a predictable, transparent way to move USDC between chains: → Native burn-and-mint transfers → Clear fees upfront, with live status and progress → No route selection. No bridge complexity. → Destination gas handled automatically Move USDC. That’s it. bridge.usdc.com

Similar story on Solana. Kamino Main right now gives you 3.21% on USDC, a bit lower than SOFR.
Wild statistic Are any DeFi protocols investing deposited dollars into treasuries to retain capital when utilization is low? OR guaranteeing a floor yield based on fixed-rate lending?

Looks like a very expensive lesson in the value of timelocks

Admin signer was compromised, or whoever controls it intentionally executed these changes. They created a new collateral market for CVT (dexscreener.com/solana/dqcs7…) They set it up with maximal / permissive collateral parameters, they called updateWithdrawGuardThreshold(), and updated parameters to be extremely relaxed: USDC: 25000000000000 -> 500000000000000 Others: 5000000000 -> 500000000000000 solscan.io/tx/4a5962Rdqd9pkX… H/t whoiskevinradar (TG)

The Solana ecosystem needs to take composability more seriously. I'm not talking about standards. I'm referring to stuff like not rejecting CPI, avoiding extra cosigners besides the sender, not treating off-curve programs differently, avoiding signed messages for access... If you're a whale using a PDA based custody solution like @multisig and cannot interact with half of Solana DeFi, what is even the point?

This is the @MaxResnick moment for Solana GTM
big personal news: first off, Ethereum is dead second, i am now Special Situations at @SolanaFndn. my mandate is mega deals that will drive max value why solana? > the most engaged userbase in crypto with the highest take rate per volume (more than hype coinbase binance) > foundation is very lean and full of killers > other chains dont need me. ethereum is fucked (stuck in communism) and hype’s perp game is mature. solana is perfect for me to have fun and get shit done what will i do at solana: > bring 10B TVL to solana i’ve brokered 1-2B before and wanna up my game. if you are a large TVL provider, we have super scalable fixed yield products at 7-8% in a tradfi setup dm me > help grow RWA perps on solana hype done a great job with oil, gold, nasdaq perps and we will take it further if you are a serious crypto/tradfi market maker in rwa, we have the distribution and open to deals dm me what motivates me personally: first off, I am doing this for glory. I want to come in and be instrumental in growing trading activity and onchain tvl. second, I want to be relevant again. I miss pissing people off while being unavoidable. its fun thirdly, learn how to acquire trading distribution. almost no one in crypto knows how to do but thats where billion usd opportunities lie and they belong on solana.

Sandboxed credit facilities are a very interesting solution for undercollateralized lending. Another example of what makes crypto so awesome. Open and composable financial systems will win!
