I'm guessing that this is actually a conscious decision given Roblox's efforts to become a social platform and that they may make text customization a first-class feature with the messages portion of their app.
Or it's an embarrassing rookie mistake.
You can send HTML through Roblox direct messages and have them render in game LOL

They clearly have three images here:
- A fixed position rotating image
- A rotating image that orbits around the screen center
- And a fixed rotating image that fills the background
All with a special distortion applied.

If you're not already, look into using Deno. I've been using it for all my Typescript related projects and the ease of development is incredible. Significantly eases barrier of entry to contribution as well.
