An addendum to this article:
A few years ago my father reacted to an article that was written from a Neoliberal and what he learned about going to a TPUSA event.
In this post he lemented a solemn truth, that if he was born in my time, and lived through my life (the life of the TPUSA youth) he would likely imagine he would see himself understanding and embracing the ideas espoused by those at this TPUSA conference.
I imagine myself the same, if I experienced the peak of neoliberalsim in the American 90s and early 2000s then I would likely be a neoliberal.
These inclinations, deeper feelings, and self reflections should not be discarded. More so you should feel these emotions and ideas to fuel your understanding of the world you would see built.
What I emplore from those that follow me, and can find in themselves to understand those who disagree with them is compassion.
Understand what they are correct on, maybe they are correct but their results lead to disasterous consequences (as neoliberalism has) but do not cast aside the lessons.
As those of the young learn from the old, despise is not enough. Despise and contempt comrpomises understanding and growth.
We must be better. We must be better than Ezra, from our parents and grandparents.
And we cannot be without understanding them.
