I am honoured to be attending the 8-day Cabinet Induction Retreat at Kyankwanzi, officially opened by H.E. @KagutaMuseveni. I remain committed to advancing Uganda’s socio-economic transformation through prudent financial management, investment promotion, and strengthening local content. I missed this Cabinet debate while away, but as someone who did internship, private interns must be paid. The workload in our referral & district hospitals is heavy and full-time. I’m engaging the President to re-table this; we must find the money to fund all interns. #CapitalFM

Katwe Division Police Commander, SP Innocent Mubagizi, regularly sets aside time from his busy schedule to engage with wananchi on TikTok, answering questions and receiving feedback from the public. This is a commendable initiative that can help strengthen community policing and improve service delivery. It would be great to see more @PoliceUg officers adopt similar platforms to connect with the communities they serve. Thank you, Ndugu. 🙏🏿

Today at State House Entebbe, I presided over the swearing-in of Hon. Justice Moses Kawumi Kazibwe as Deputy Chief Justice. I congratulate Justice Kawumi and commend the Judiciary, under the leadership of Chief Justice Flavian Zeija, for the progress being made in fighting corruption, promoting Alternative Dispute Resolution, and embracing digitisation. These reforms are important in ensuring that justice is delivered efficiently, fairly, and without unnecessary delays. When we came into government, corruption and excessive emphasis on technicalities were major weaknesses in the judicial system. I am therefore pleased to see continued efforts to strengthen substance, integrity, and accountability in the administration of justice. I wish Justice Kawumi success as he undertakes this important responsibility.

COLLABORATIVE PROCUREMENT IN THE OFFING: Once the new Government starts work, another major reform to be implemented will be in the area of public procurement. All Ministries,Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as well as Local Governments (LGs) will implement the use of collaborative procurement for common user items such as stationery, computers, cars etc effective 1st July 2026. This is part of the measures to cut wastage, guard against over pricing of goods and services in Gov't,standardise prices, achieve quality standards, value for money and maximize economies of scale. This reform is also aimed at making public procurement efficient, transparent and corruption free. According to the PSST Dr. @rggoobi, this reform will remove middlemen of procurement and also cut down on the lead time. "If Government is buying similar things like cars and computers, there is no need for each entity to look for bidders," said the PSST. Common user items will be purchased in bulk on behalf of all requesting MDAs & LGs.
